Collaborating Center of Excellence in Regulatory Sciences and Innovation

The goal of UCSF-STANFORD-CERSI is to advance the field of regulatory sciences to facilitate the development and evaluation of safe and effective medical products.

Building on the enormous strengths of UCSF and Stanford in quantitative sciences and pharmacology, UCSF-STANFORD-CERSI will provide strong education, exchange and collaborative research programs for participating scientists focused on three of the eight specific areas of FDA’s regulatory science and innovation strategy:

Goals:

  • Improving pre-clinical assessments of safety and efficacy;
  • Improving clinical studies and evaluation;
  • Harnessing diverse data through information sciences to improve health outcomes.

In addition, this CERSI will strengthen one other strategic area:

  • Ensuring readiness to evaluate innovative and emerging technologies.
